FAQ

What genres of music do you work with?

We work with all genres of music. Our main mixing engineer works on folk, funk, pop, rock and metal etc.
Our younger mix engineer covers EDM, Hip Hop and Hybrid genres like Trap etc.

Do you offer free samples of your work?

Due to our workload and the fact that we do not outsource our work, we are unable to offer free samples.
You can however take a look at our reviews and have a listen to the samples on our website.

Do you offer discounts?

We are very busy, so our pricing is done fairly, according to the size of the project we are working on. If you are looking for a full production package we offer an all inclusive price. Any session work, or mixing and mastering of a full album can also be done at a reduced price.

What are the completion times for the services you offer?

It entirely depends on the service and the size of the project.
Session work, repairs and restoration, editing services and mastering are usually completed within 48 hours for a single track. A full album can take between 1 to 2 weeks, depending on the complexity of the material and track count.

Basic mixing can be anything from 1 week for a single track, to 4 weeks for an album.

Creative mixing that requires further production work and sound design will take longer, because we liaise with the client every step of the way, to ensure 100% satisfaction.

Full production packages are priced individually, simply because this process can vary drastically. It totally depends on the genre and size of production, and how much work has already been done. For example:

At the very least we could be starting from just lyrics and a vocal melody. Then we have to consider the genre - will it be a simple 6 track folk song, or a full blown anthemic song, containing hundreds of track from drums to stacked vocals?

All of the above information is discussed in detail when evaluating the client's needs.

Can I request a refund?

All editing, repairs and restoration requests, require payment in advance, but we do process a small section of the files for approval beforehand. If you are 100% happy with the results we take payment and then proceed.

Mixing - starts without prior payment. We then send a section of the mixed files for approval. At this stage we require 50% of payment in good faith. Then we offer up to 5 revisions of the mix until you are 100% happy. We then request the remaining payment and send you the Hi - resolution files.

Session work - we require no up front payments. We offer unlimited revisions until you are 100% happy. After approval, payment is taken and the uncompressed multi tracks are sent to you.

Full production packages require installments at each stage of the process. This can be discussed in detail by phone. We only take payment for each stage if you are 100% happy with the progress.

By paying for any of the above services, you are consenting that you are happy with the work. Should you be unsatisfied for whatever reason and require additional amendments, you will be charged 50% of the original price.

Our guarantee states that payment is only made, be it full, or part payment, when you are 100% happy with the service you have received. This means that we at gfs, rocks do not offer refunds once payment has been made.

How do we send and receive files?

We recommend sending over your files to us, using a service like WeTransfer.com

All compressed revisions and samples of the work in progress will be emailed directly to you for evaluation.

The finished, high-quality files will be sent via WeTransfer.com. You will receive an email to download your files securely. You have 14 days to download the files. WeTransfer have a strict time limit policy. After 14 days, your download link will expire, and you will need to request a new download link from us: info@gfs.rocks
